Why we opened Lagos branch, CMD, Kelina Hospital

Determined to make it easier for hundreds of its patience travelling from Lagos and neighbouring states to seek medical attention in Abuja, the Kelina Hospital has opened a new ultra-modern branch of the hospital in Lagos State

The new Kelina Hospital filled with state of the arts medical equipment is located at No 8, Ologun Agbaje Street, Off Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Chief Medical Director, CMD, of the hospital, Dr. C.U Undie, disclosed this via a post on the WhatsApp platform of the Hospital Chapel, a non- denominational assembly situated inside the National Hospital, Abuja.

He said patience will no longer go through the stress of traveling far distance to seek medical solution for their health issues.

According to Dr. Undie, “The decision was to make it easier for hundreds of our patients who go from Lagos State to Abuja to see us.

‘We did four surgeries in Abuja one day. All the four flew in from Lagos. So we decided to come to Lagos to make things easier for our patients.

“Our focus remains the same, whether in Abuja or Lagos: Minimal Access Surgery. After Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate(HoLEP) which we do very frequently for enlarged prostate, our patients go home the next day.”

The Urologist explained further that, “Patients don’t need blood for HoLEP as it is a virtually bloodless surgery.

“After Laser Lithotripsy or PCNL for Kidney Stones, patients go home same day or next day. Laparoscopic Surgery is also a routine.

“The first 150 Watts Laser in Lagos State, the most powerful laser on earth for human surgery, has already been installed and commissioned early this year.

“There are doctors on duty 24/7. The Lab is fully automated. Radiology has CT scan. You are welcome to visit us.”
