Presidential primary: SDP begins accreditation of delegates

The Presidential primaries of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has commenced as delegates drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, converged at the International Conference Centre for accreditation.
Prominent party leaders arrived at the event including Shehu Gabam, National Chairman, Olu Agunloye, National Secretary, Mulikat Adeola, former leader, House of Representatives among others.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the convention planning committee, Engr. Segun Oni has assured of his readiness to conduct a transparent, free,fair and credible primary election.
Prince Adewole Adebayo and Kadijah Okunnu-Lamidi are vying for the presidential ticket of the party following the withdrawal of Dorathy Akenova.
A total of 1,710 delegates are expected to nominate the party’s Presidential candidate.
