…As Campaign Council advices group to concentrate on strongholds

A political pressure group working for the actualisation of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s presidency, Team Faleke Movement for Tinubu/Shettima, has promised to mobilize massive votes to ensure victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential standard bearer during the 2023 presidential election.

The group, which has its members cut across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, vowed to focus on grassroots engagement and sensitisation of the electorate with a view to marketing their products in the persons of Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice Presidential candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.

The National Coordinator of the group, Hajia Ramatu Abdulhammed, who led the national executive and other members on a courtesy visit to the Secretary of the Campaign Council, Hon. James faleke in Abuja, said she was on familiar terrain having participated in the past electioneering processes that gave the party’s presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari victory in 2015 and 2019 presidential elections, respectfully.

Meanwhile, the leadership and members of the Movement were received on behalf of Hon. James Faleke by his Deputy Secretary of the Campaign Council, Mr. Chris Tarka, Chief of Staff to Simon Lalong, the Director General of Campaign Council, Yakubu Datti at the party’s national campaign office.

Hajia Abdulhammed stressed further that the task ahead was not unsurmountable just like in the previous electoral victories, “Because we have sellable candidates in the forthcoming coming February 2023 presidential election.”

She recalled that “The unprecedented achievements recorded by Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s administration between 1999 and 2007 in Lagos State and that of Senator Kashim Shettima in Borno State during his tenure as Governor of State, have made the job of mobilizing massive votes for the duo easier.”

According to her, “We have started moving on with the campaign, we have established our presence at the poling units level with three representatives, at the ward level, state level and the national level, respectfully.

“The purpose of our visit today is to intimate the Campaign Council of the efforts we have put in so far in ensuring that the APC wins the next year’s presidential election.

“You can see that majority of the members of the team are youths, and we are ready to work assiduously during this campaign period and as well to protect our votes during the polls.

“We are also here to ask the Campaign Council that we should be part of the Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima’s Presidential Campaign Organization.”

In his response, the Deputy Secretary of the Campaign Council, Mr. Chris Tarka expressed excitement in the choice of the name “Team Faleke Movement for Tinubu/ Shettima” by the group, which he said symbolizes succeess.

Tarkar noted that “It is nice to see that you recognize qaulity and you like qaulity. For you to pick the name Team Faleke, you must be men and women of qaulity because on that wonderful name you are standing is a no nonsence man, he is a hardworking man, he is a goal getter. He is somebody who has achieved a lot.”

According to him, “So, when you pick a name like that I look at that name and I said you must be ready to give us good result.

“My advice to you is that as you are desireous to become part of the Campaign Council, the Campaign Council doesn’t only stick in Abuja here.

“In fact we were just talking a while ago with my staff in the office. I was trying to make some little adjustments and they told me, Oga, why are we wasting time, by next week we are not going to be here because we must be on the field.

“Nobody is going to be here next week because we are looking at how to go to the grassroots. We are not Abuja politicians. I’m just a bush man, I just came to the city for a while, anytime I go back to the bush I go back to my people.

“Because at the end of the day, what will make us to recognize you and what will make us to carry you on to the next level is going to be on what you brought from your polling booth and what you brought from your ward.

“The results you bring from your ward is what will take you to the next level.

“So we are asking that everybody should be focused, very hardworking and concentrate in your stronghold. Don’t just spread for spreading sake. You are seasoned politicians, pick your stronghold.

“You know where your stronghold are. if you know you are strong in Kogi State, you will have to concentrate in Kogi. Then we will be rest assured that we have a strong team working for us in Kogi State. If it is in Benue State, do the same thing, think like that.”
