Accuses PDP of drafting in mole to destroy party

The leadership of African Democratic Congress, ADC, yesterday, assured members of the party that it will put in place all necessary plans to frustrate attempt by intruders to hijack the party.

The party noted that none of the political opportunists acting the role of mole attempting to wreck havoc to the soul of the party was its foundation member and therefore cannot succeed in implementing the plot.

Speaking exclusively with NEW ERA in Abuja, the National Chairman of ADC, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, vowed that the party cannot be hijacked under his watch.

Chief Nwosu, recalled how a mole in the person of the expelled presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu was drafted to the party in order to destroy it ahead of the 2023 general elections, especially the presidential contest.

He said, when the preparations ahead of the 2023 polls started, he was busy concentrating on building the party because Nigerians are saying in 2023, no PDP, no APC, adding, “And I was thinking how can I do this?

“So, we try to open the political space for more people to participate and that was the reason people like Kachikwu came in to join the party about six months ago

But we didn’t know that this man, our expelled presidential candidate was drafted into our party by a powerful political clique to stop a presidential candidate of South East extraction from emerging under ADC platform.

According to him, “Now, they thought they can hold Peter Obi in PDP. Now, this South East agitation they think they can kill it by sending this man, Kachikwu into our party.

“And when Kachikwu emerged candidate after defeating his closest rival, Mr. Kingsley Moghalu, then Peter Obi didn’t contest again in PDP presidential primary and left for Labour Party and started doing this thing he is doing now.”

Accusing some notable people’s Democratic Party, PDP, top shots of involvement in the plot to destabilize ADC, Nwosu said the conspiracy against his party was to suppressed a section of the country and attract bloc votes of South East and South South for Atiku and Okowa’s candidacy.

“But then, we didn’t know. Like I have said, I was concentrated on building this party because I hear Nigerians said in 2023, no PDP, no APC. It means they want alternative.”

On Kachikwu, the party’s National Chairman said, “What did this guy do, he went around to go and meet our delegates. We are conducting our congresses, and sometimes he will go and help them in conducting congresses so delegates will emerge.

“And sometimes we learnt he will give them some money.

“And his message to them was, come, ADC has not been winning presidency but this time ADC can win the Presidency and that they need somebody with capacity to make it happen.

“And so people were moved and said okay if we get someone with capacity and he was showing capacity by giving them something.

“In our kind of our party that N1,000 is something, if you give somebody N10,000, it is a big money whereas in PDP you give somebody $10,000, he may not even look at it as anything. That’s how it all developed.

“And we went for the presidential primary. The delegates actually voted for him. And you know, immediately it happened, Kingsley Moghalu was the first person who started blaming our party that the primary was flawed and this and that.”

Chief Nwosu lamented that, in acting the conspiracy script, Dumebi Kachikwu shortly after his emergency as presidential standard bearer of African Democratic Congress, ADC, went aloof and cannot be reached by the party’s leadership again.

“This amongst other infractions earned him expulsion from our party which resulted in inability of ADC to constitute Presidential Campaign Council for 2023 presidential election”, he said.
