A Pro-democracy and Civil rights activist, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha , has called on President Bola Tinubu to set in motion machinery of restructuring the country without further delay

The Urhobo ethnic leader from Delta State, while addressing a news conference on Monday noted that Nigeria is bleeding profusely and therefore needs urgent attention to rescue it.
According to him, “As you are aware, for some times now I have been very quiet watching development in the country. Journalists and other well meaning Nigerians have asked and still asking me to speak on the economic and political situation, the hardship Nigerians are currently passing through.
“Ordinarily, I have refused to comment because Nigerian problems are endless and complex. After considering the passionate appeals especially my position as a Pro-democracy and Civil rights activists, as an ethnic Nationality leader, I have resolved to respond to the clarion calls.
“Let me raise this alarm here that Nigeria is a failed state, therefore the country restructuring is inevitable. The country should be restructured so that any component part that wishes to developed economically can do so. Nigeria is bleeding profusely.
“The over dependent on one source of revenue, the oil has made other parts lazy, the government at the center cannot checks itself, let alone the 36 States of the federation.
“Worthy of note is that corruption is increasing daily at a time we thought corruption was a thing of the past. When the former President came to power he promised to fight corruption head long but reverse was the case, little did we know that it will fire back dangerously.
“There are so many economic means of survival God deposited across the country but government at all level has refused to tap them because of the oil.
“Nigeria’s past and present leaders have refused to listen to the cry of the people. I therefore, urged them to take or learn from megafulis of Tanzania that has not only transforming Tanzania also a model for Africa countries.
‘President Tinubu should therefore set in motion machinery of restructuring the country without delay. The brain drain of our youth is a testimony is a indication that all is not well with country.”
