ABUJA: A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ughelli North local government Area of Delta State, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha, has predicted that the 2027 governorship elections in the state would be only the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori contesting against himself.
Alhaji Unagha, who made the prediction while speaking to journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport in Abuja, was optimistic the governor will have no rival from any political party to contest against him in 2027 because of his noticeable records of huge economic transformation across the state.
According to him. “Deltans will shame anybody who will want to contest with the Governor because of the Social Economic transformation he has brought to the state in recent time.”
Unagha, who is also the secretary of Urhobo Leaders of Thought noted that the Governor should complete his eight years tenure except God says otherwise.
He said, “It is only politicians without conscience that will want to challenge the Governor”, adding that the Oborevwori has demonstrated that he is a grass-rooted politician who knows the feelings and aspiration of his people.
The outspoken former foremost Youth Leader in Nigeria under the National Youth Council of Nigeria expressed deep appreciation on the remarkable projects embarked upon by the Governor.
Speaking on the crisis rocking the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the former presidential aspirant in the 2019 general elections prayed for them to continue their crisis.
He noted that APC in Delta State is front-loaded with greedy and selfish politicians and is only God that can deliver them
