The immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Udu Branch, Kingsley Asagba has congratulated Chief Vincent Oyibode for his election and swearing-in as the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council.
Asagba stated this while speaking to journalists in his office shortly after the inauguration of newly elected chairmen in the Delta state by the State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
He described the victory of Oyibode an unopposed status during the election as a testament of whom he is.
Asagba who is also the Chairman, Forum of NBA chairmen in Delta State advised the chairman to focus on what will bring development to the area.
He stated that Oyibode is a round peck in a round hole, adding that he has no doubt that he will move the Local Government to an enviable position
According to him, as a friend of Chief Oyibode over these period of years, especially whilst in the university , he is a serious minded gentleman with a passion for success.
He further described Oyibode as a respecter of the rule of law and legal processes, stressing that he will do everything to protect the legal rights of everyone in the Local Government Area irrespective of his or her indigenous status.
Asagba called on the people to give the administration of Chief Oyibode the needed support to enable him bring the dividends of democracy to the grassroot as envisaged by the Supreme Court in its recent judgment on Local Government autonomy.
