ABUJA: In an atmosphere of nostalgia and camaraderie, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, welcomed his predecessor, Dr. Amos Adamu, to his office at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Friday, November 29, 2024.

Reflecting on his journey to becoming Chairman, Dikko recalled his early days as a Sports Consultant to the House Committee on Sports before his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He acknowledged the tremendous contributions of his predecessor, Dr. Adamu, to the development of sports in Nigeria and expressed the importance of drawing from his wealth of experience.

“Dr. Adamu is a veteran sports administrator whose contributions to Nigerian sports are invaluable. His insights and experience will be instrumental as we work towards transforming the sector,” Dikko said.

Speaking, Dr. Amos Adamu, a seasoned sports administrator, expressed confidence in the new leadership of the NSC. He praised Dikko’s vision and leadership skills, affirming that Nigerian sports are on the path to reclaiming their former glory.

“The National Sports Commission, under Mallam Shehu Dikko, has the capacity to restore Nigeria’s sports sector to its rightful place. His appointment is a testament to putting the right person in the right position,” Adamu stated.

The meeting symbolized the NSC’s commitment to collaboration and institutional knowledge sharing to drive impactful reforms. Dikko emphasized the commission’s dedication to revitalizing the Nigerian sports sector and achieving its strategic goals.

“The NSC is focused on restoring Nigerian sports to its golden era, and with the support of visionary leaders like Dr. Adamu, the future is indeed bright,” Dikko noted.

The visit marks a significant step in fostering unity within the sports administration community, as the NSC continues to prioritize innovative reforms and collective efforts toward revitalizing the sector.
