NNPP’s BOT ratifies expulsion of Kwankwaso, his group, others from party

The Board of Trustees, BOT, of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has ratified the expulsion of its former Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso from the party.

The BOT led by Dr Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam also ratified the expulsion of Buba Galadima and the entire kwankwassiya group from the party following the expiration of the MOU that brought them.

This decision was taken at conclusion of the party’s national convention on the 4th of February 2025 at the Rockview Hotel in Apapa Lagos, where it also ratified the election of a new National Working Committee,NWC, led by Dr Agbo Major as National Chairman of the party.

The NNPP, therefore called on the remaining remnants of the kwankwassiya group to peacefully exit its fold and find cover somewhere as their leaders are presently doing.

The National Chairman of NNPP, Dr. Agbo Major, who disclosed this development while addressing newsmen in Abuja, particularly warned Dr Ahmed Ajuji, which he described as unstable characters masquerading as NNPP members led by one of the unemployed characters around senator Rabiu musa KWANKWASO, to stop further gushing out all sorts of garbage from his mouth recently as noticed.

According to Dr. Major, “You would recall that the recent judgement of the Abia High Court dated 1st November 2024 unequivocally compelled INEC to hand our party to its Board of Trustees led by Dr Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam pending the resolution of all issues in court(s).

“You also recall that the same judgement mandated the BOT to activate all other organs of the party as contained in the party’s constitution (2022 as amended) to enable it run seamlessly.

“In total compliance with this court judgement, all necessary correspondences were made with INEC and on the 13th of January 2024, the congresses commenced with Wards nationwide. It continued days after with the local government and states as well as the zones.

“However, the national convention which was to hold on 22nd January 2025 was temporarily halted due to an interim order of an FCT High Court. It was however concluded on the 4th of February 2025 at the Rockview Hotel in Apapa Lagos after the life span of the interim order elapsed

“The high points of the convention included the ratification of all congresses held from ward to zonal, the ratification of the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima and the entire kwankwassiya group from the party following the expiration of the MOU that brought them, the election of a new National Working Committee led by me Dr Agbo Major as national chairman (list attached), a review of party’s finances, rejection of the purported new logo and an approval to revert back to the basket of fruits on Nigerian map logo amongst others.

“I will however not end this address without mentioning the activities of the kwankwassiya group led by Kwankwaso in their bid to keep the party unstable. We saw some unstable characters masquerading as NNPP members led by one of the unemployed characters around senator Rabiu musa KWANKWASO, Dr Ahmed Ajuji gushing out all sorts of gabbage from his mouth recently.

“It’s unfortunate that at this stage of our national life, a misguided and obviously a suspected mentally unstable Dr Ajuji would do that, even more disturbing is the attention given to him by the press despite knowing that Ajuji and his co-travellers have long been expelled from our party.

“Ajuji ignorantly branded all sorts of court judgements but failed to tell Nigerians the true contents of those documents. These are judgements that simply said “it’s a family disagreement so go and settle in-house”.

“Ajuji did not tell Nigerians of the recent Abia High Court judgement which effectively confirmed their exit from the party, Ajuji did not tell Nigerians of how they flouted a court judgement delivered in their backyard in Kano by a Federal High Court affirming that the candidates presented by the Dr Agbo Major led NNPP were the candidates to be on the ballot for the local government election in Kano.

“Ajuji did not tell Nigerians how they rushed back to another court in Kano to withdraw a case they filed against Dr Boniface Aniebonam, myself and others who rescued them from going into political oblivion in 2022, Ajuji did not tell Nigerians that concerned party members went to court to stop the purported change in logo and despite having served them and INEC with the relevant court process they still went ahead to effect the illegal change, instead he chose to mislead Nigerians in that ill-fated press conference.

“It is worthy of note here that the Dr Aniebonam led BOT on 4th of February 2025 completed the assignment as directed by the Abia High Court, all relevant submissions have been made to INEC and we are sure that in the next few days, changes in INEC records would be effected. I urge the body to do what is right in compliance with rule of law always.

“We once again call on the remaining remnants of the kwankwassiya group to peacefully exit our dear party and find cover somewhere as their leaders are presently doing.

“It is our hope that any other political party would look at their direction and accept their treacherous and deceitful antecedents and bear the consequences.”

To the press, the NNPP National Chairman said, “I urge you to stop listening to these unemployed characters, sinking clowns and lunatics who are sponsored to create instability in NNPP. We are united in our resolve to move on towards 2027 and consolidate the gains made so far as a party.”
