ABUJA: Uche Nwosu, the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center for Africa, has gifted N1 million to a Nigerian Immigration officer, Prince Orji Ugochukwu who arrested, Mr Levi Onyeka Obu, the notorious kidnapper and ritualist from Enugu State.

Chief Nwosu, who announced the donation via a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, said the role played Prince Ugochukwu in the arrest of the kidnap kingpin is worth of emulation by other security agencies in the country.

He said for refusing the mouth-watering offer of N10 million from the suspect, Ugochukwu has made the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, and the country proud.

Nwosu, who was also the Chief of Staff, CoS, to Imo State Government said, “Yesterday, Nigerians woke up to a shocking discovery that one Mr Levi Onyeka Obu, widely known as Ezeani, Ichie Billion, or “E Dey Play E Dey Show”, who was highly celebrated for his wealth and flamboyant lifestyle is now being accused of heinous crimes, involving kidnapping and ritual killings.

“In a society like Nigeria, where the get-rich-quick syndrome is at its peak, I wish to commend Prince Orji Ugochukwu, the official of the Nigeria Immigration Service who apprehended Mr. Levi Onyeka Obu, the accused kidnapper and ritualist, from Enugu State.

“As the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center, I hereby announce the donation of one million naira (N1,000,000) as our token of appreciation to Prince Orji Ugochukwu for the role he played in the arrest of the kidnap kingpin and for refusing the mouth-watering offer of 10 million naira from the suspect.

“I wish to also use this opportunity to congratulate the leadership of the Nigeria Immigration Service for raising such a young man like Prince Ugochukwu who could render this level of patriotic service to our country, Nigeria.

“This act of patriotism is worthy of emulation by all other public servants in the security sector in Nigeria, who are charged with the responsibilities of securing our borders.

“Together, we shall build a great country we shall all be proud of….”
