The family of Marvis Meshack of Delta State has petitioned the National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu over the alleged detention of their daughter, Mrs. Bridget Meshack, who was forcibly abducted by security operatives on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
The family in the petition is demanding for immediate and unconditional release of Mrs. Meshack or, in the alternative, produce her before a competent court of law without further delay.
The petition dated July 29, 2025 and signed by Oghenovo O. Otemu, ESQ. MCIArb (UK), Head of Oghenovo O. Otemu, chambers, was also copied the Attorney General of the Federation and Ministry of justice, the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission, respectively.
It reads, “We are solicitors to Marvis Meshack and the family members of Mrs. Bridget Meshack, on whose instruction we write this urgent and deeply distressing petition.
“It is our firm brief that Mrs. Bridget Meshack, mother to our client, was forcibly abducted on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Since that date, she has neither been released nor granted any contact with her family or legal representatives. All efforts to ascertain her location and wellbeing have been met with complete silence and non-disclosure.
“According to credible information available to our clients, Mrs. Meshack’s last known communication was with one Hinsley Ejiro Adamure (also known as “Adams”), who had arranged to meet her under the pretext of a business discussion. Investigations suggest that Mr. Adamure is currently in the custody of security personnel and may have been used as a conduit to track and apprehend our clients’ mother.
“It is noteworthy and alarming that Mrs. Meshack was taken along with her Toyota Hilux Van (Registration Number: APP115GN), which has also since disappeared. No legal arrest warrant or official communication was ever served on the family or their legal representatives.
“This covert and unlawful detention has caused grave psychological trauma, emotional distress, and significant financial losses to her children, dependents, and extended family. The circumstances of her disappearance are grossly violation of her constitutional and human rights, including her right to personal liberty, dignity, and access to legal representation.
“We hereby demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mrs. Bridget Meshack or, in the alternative, her production before a competent court of law without further delay. We also demand that she be granted immediate access to her family and legal counsel.
“We find this development extremely worrisome, particularly given that Mrs. Meshack poses no security threat to the nation or to any individual, nor is she known to have been involved in any criminal or subversive activity.
“Consequently, we respectfully and passionately appeal to you Sir, to use your good offices to initiate a thorough investigation and ensure that the rights of Mrs. Bridget Meshack are fully upheld, and that she is promptly released to her family.
“We trust in your swift attention to this matter of urgent human rights concern.”
