Leveraging automation, digital expertise, TCN commits to efficient bulk power transmission – Abdulaziz

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, said it will harness the power of automation and digital transformation to deliver reliable and efficient bulk power transmission services nationwide.
The Managing Director/CEO of TCN, Engr. (Dr.) Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz grave the assurance in a document entitled;
Executive Summary under his leadership, made available to journalists in Abuja.
Engr. Abdulaziz added that through the collective efforts of its leadership, the company has demonstrated a strong commitment to project delivery, digital transformation, and the creation of a positive work environment.
He stressed further that, the TCN is dedication to fostering a conducive working environment and maintaining harmonious relationships with stakeholders to serve as solid foundation for sustained progress and success.
According to Abdulaziz, “TCN is also automating and digitizing all its processes in alignment with the organization’s corporate goals and has implemented various digitalization projects.
“It places emphasis on maintaining equipment and infrastructure in a timely manner through proactive maintenance practices and the procurement of necessary spare parts, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of its operations.
“This commitment to regular maintenance helps prevent disruptions, enhances system performance, and reinforces TCN’s reputation as a dependable transmission service provider.
“The current management has undertaken initiatives to ensure that the work environment supports productivity and promotes a holistic approach to work, fostering a productive and compassionate work culture.
“Renovation projects have been carried out to improve office complexes, and modern facilities have been constructed in locations such as Aja – Lagos State, Kano – Kano State, Abuja – FCT, Ihovbor – Edo State, Owerri- Imo State, and Uyo – Akwa Ibom State, among others.
“These efforts reflect the management’s understanding that a well-designed and comfortable workspace positively impacts employee performance.
“In addition to physical improvements, TCN values the importance of having skilled and knowledgeable staff and has continued to invest in continuous training and development programs for its employees.
“By equipping staff with the necessary expertise and keeping them updated on industry advancements, TCN ensures that its workforce remains competent and capable of effectively fulfilling their job functions.

Noting the company cannot meet the goals alone, the MD said, “Furthermore, TCN understands the significance of fostering harmonious relationships with other stakeholders in the electricity sector and has therefore enhanced collaboration and cooperation with government agencies, power generation companies, distribution companies, and regulatory bodies.

“TCN effectively coordinate efforts, resolve issues, and align strategies to ensure the reliable transmission of bulk electricity across the country.”
Speaking further on the vandalization of the company’s critical assets, Abdulaziz explained that, “Also, in line with promoting effective communication in the fight against equipment vandalism, the company, under the current leadership, has continued to convene sensitization programmes in various host communities of transmission installations nationwide to ensure the buy-in of community members.
“The company is also actively collaborating with state governments and security operatives. These efforts have been impactful.”

“These accomplishments position TCN for continued growth and improved performance in the transmission of bulk power across Nigeria”, he said.
