The APC Grassroots Governance Group (APC G3) has condemned in strong terms what it described as continuous attacks on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by former presidential aide Lauretta Onochie.

The APC G3 said Onochie’s recent outbursts was “a classic case of wounded ambition dressed up as patriotism.”

Speaking through a statement issued on Friday, the APC G3 National Coordinator, Chuks Oyema said Nigerians are not deceived by what it called “sudden activism driven by personal disappointment.”

According to him, “You’re not angry because of Nigeria — you’re angry because you didn’t get an appointment. Let’s be honest. If your name had made the list, you would be singing a different tune today.

“This sudden outrage is not about patriotism; it is about personal frustration.”

The group said Onochie’s criticism only intensified after federal appointments were announced.

“Spare Nigerians the selective outrage. Your activism did not begin when policies were rolled out. It began when appointment lists surfaced and your name was missing. Let’s call it what it is: wounded ambition masquerading as national concern.”

APC G3 further stated that criticism must be rooted in facts and policy engagement, not emotional resentment.

“This is not about Nigeria being on her knees; it is about bruised expectations. If you had secured an appointment, you would likely be defending the same administration you now attack daily. Nigerians deserve serious conversations, not personal grievances projected onto national discourse.”

The group described her attacks as “loud but hollow.”

“The loudest critics are often those who expected a seat at the table and got none. Your anger sounds less like concern for the country and more like frustration over a door that did not open.”

APC G3 urged party loyalists to remain focused on governance reforms under President Tinubu, insisting that internal disagreements should not be weaponized to undermine the administration.

“Selective outrage is the easiest currency in politics. When there was hope of personal benefit, everything seemed acceptable. Now suddenly the nation is collapsing? Nigerians can see through that narrative.”

The group concluded by advising Onochie to take responsibility for her political choices rather than “rebranding personal exclusion as national struggle.”

“You were not compelled to support anyone. If political calculations did not yield the expected reward, own it. But do not pretend this is about saving Nigeria when it clearly reflects personal dissatisfaction.”
