Flood: Unagha raises alert over impending humanitarian crisis

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Political Matters, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha has raised a possible humanitarian crisis in the country come 2023 as a result of flood ravaging some parts of the country.
Alhaji Unagha stated this when he visited Evwreni. in Ughelli North local Government Area of Delta State to access the level of the flood disaster.
Alhaji Unagha, who expressed shock at the devastation of the flood described it as the worst in the history of recent times in the area.
He expressed concerns of imminent hunger in the year 3023, adding that except urgent steps are taken by all levels of government the people will face hunger crisis
Alhaji Unagha, who was a former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2019 election pointed out that there should be no blame game as the flood is a national and natural disaster.
Addressing the people, Alhaji Unagha pleaded with the people to exercise patience, stressing that the government will intervene to alleviate their plight.
In his response, the acting Odion Rode, Utuedor Utih, who spoke on behalf of the community, appealed to the state government for urgent intervention to nip the ugly situation in the bud to avoid the outbreak of cholera and other epidemics diseases.
He lamented the entire farm in the community have been destroyed with the people left with nothing.
