Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has been advised to drop his ambition to contest the 2027 presidential election.
A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha, who issued the advice said Atiku’s continuous ambition to become President at all cost has resulted a major set back and division within to the PDP.
Speaking with journalists in an interview at the coronation / staff of office ceremony of the Ovie of Agbarha- Warri kingdom in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State Alhaji Unagha, urged the former Vice President to jettison the ambition if at all, he is thinking in that direction again.
According to him, the former Vice President should support a more younger and vibrant president aspirant instead of his continuous contestation.
He noted that the ambition of Atiku becoming President at all cost has not only resulted a major set back to the party (PDP) but also division.
Alhaji Unagha a former presidential aspirant in the 2019 presidential election under the All Progressives Congress added that it is time the likes of Atiku and Co quit the stage now that the ovation is loudest, especially for the Vice President to play the role ofstatesmanship.
According to him, *Nigeria is still recycling leadership that are destroying the nation, pointing out that Nigerians are tired of them.”
He maintained that APC government has not only taken the country back both in economics, major social and political, also created a situation where it cannot be redeemed in the next 20 years.
He urged Nigerians of shades must unite against APC bad government ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Alhaji Unagha called for synergy of opposition political parties to engage the All Progressives Congress now that they have failed the nation.
Speaking on why he left APC, as a founding members, he said there are too many hymnals, selfish politicians in the party in his Delta State chapter of the party.
