NERC fixes tomorrow for public hearing on frequent grid disturbances

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC has fixed tomorrow, Thursday, October 24, 2024 to conduct inquiry into the frequent national grid disturbances and other critical issues in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, NESI.

The Commission said NESI stakeholders, civil society organisations, and the general public are invited to the hearing slated to take place at its headquarters, according to the statement obtained by New Era, in Abuja .

NERC lamented escalating incidence of grid disturbances, which it said reversing the gains achieved in the sector.

According to the statement , “The Commission has noted with concern the recent escalating incidence of grid disturbances often leading to marked outage in several states thus reversing many of the gains recently achieved in reducing infrastructure deficit and improving grid stability.”
