Eminent Idoma sons and daughters expected as women group hosts unity summit

A flurry of activity is expected in Otukpo town, the traditional headquarters of the Idoma nation, as prominent sons and daughters will on Saturday, October 26, 2024, converge for Idoma Synergy Summit.
The Summit, being organized by Idoma Daughters and Wives Association, IDWA, is aimed to strategize on unity and development for Idoma land.
The Idoma Synergy Summit is designed to bring together esteemed Idoma leaders to address the deep-seated issues that have stalled growth and progress in Idoma land, with a focus on finding sustainable solutions to propel the nation forward.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, where she unvieled the activities of the Summit slated to hold at Venue: Leach Hotel Otukpo, the National President of IDWA, Dr. Sarah Ogah-Aduwari, said the summit will deliberate on the angles of politics, economy, and human capital development with emphasis on the ways forward for the people.
The Summit with theme,
“Unlocking Idoma’s collective rise; driving sustainable growth and development”, according to Dr. Ogah-Aduwari, will answer some questions on “What is the Idoma dream and how can we bring it to life?”
Expected at the summit include Paramount ruler, Och’Idoma, HRH John Elaigwu Odogbo, First class Chiefs, Wives of 1st class chiefs, Ochetoha k’Idoma, Okam Forum, Ofu k’Idoma, Idoma Retired General, All Idoma political representatives in state and Federal, Idoma Lawyers Association, Abuja and Idoma in Power Sector Abuja among others.
Dr. Ogah-Aduwari said, “It is a clarion call to service.IDWA has no political ideology or affiliations because we aim to unite all Idoma sons and daughters regardless of their religious or political affiliations.
“Our vision is to harmonize all Idoma sons, daughters and wives all over the world for the sustainable development of Idoma land .
“We humbly write to inform you about the major activity of the year 2024 “Oowa K’ Ooya Toha K‘ ole Idoma (The Idoma Synergy summit 1.)
“This summit aims to look at the Idoma problem, from the angles of politics, economy, and human capital development with emphasis on the ways forward. Enough of the talk it’s time for action.
“The aim is to strengthen the existing love for our dear mother land and re-strategize on better utilization of our unity, power, love and empowerment, in order to improve and increase the living condition of our people.
“What is the Idoma dream and how can we bring it to life? this summit hopes to answer this question. ”
The Summit she said will feature Keynote speakers and panel discussions on topics ranging from politics, Education, cultural preservation, economic development, and human capital development.
Also ined up at the summit she said include cultural performances, art exhibition, and traditional craft demonstrations.
“Networking opportunities with Idoma sons and daughters, leaders and change-makers. We believe your participation will enrich our discussions and inspire collective action.
‘Your contributions will help shape the future of our communities. We look forward to welcoming you to this powerful gathering of Idoma sons and daughters. Together we can chart the way forward for Idoma land.”
Highlight of the summit will be the bestowing of awards to Igbe Oklobia, Mammy Ochefu, Bongos Ikwue and commissioning of water wells.
She said on arrival on October 24, IDWA will pay a courtesy call on Och’Idoma, HRH John Elaigwu Odogbo and as well hold a townhall meeting on October 25, respectively.
