Former Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator James Manager, has charged members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in rural areas to maintain discipline, loyalty, and regular attendance at ward meetings, as they were considered as the foundation of the party’s strength and unity.
Senator Manager made this statement during a meeting to formally introduce the newly elected ward six executives to party members at Ogbeinama Community, the headquarters of Ward Six (Okoloba/Ogbeinama Communities) in Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Manager stressed that ward executives, political office holders, and stakeholders were the driving force behind the party’s grassroots formation.

He urged them to lead by example by consistently attending ward meetings to uphold the core values of the party.
“Discipline, loyalty, and regular meetings not only foster unity, peace, love, and trust but also ensure that party members stay informed and feel a sense of belonging,” he said.
He encouraged party members who have yet to benefit from the dividends of democracy to remain patient, assuring them that the party leadership was working tirelessly to improve the welfare of all members.

Senator Manager also urged members to embrace the opportunities presented by the “MORE Agenda” of the current administration, expressing optimism about a brighter future for Deltans.
Addressing grievances within the ward, Senator Manager called on disenchanted members to set aside their differences and reaffirm their commitment to the party and its leadership.
He also advised the newly elected ward executives to foster inclusivity and carry all members along in the party’s affairs.

Senator Manager criticized the absence of some political office holders at the meeting, suggesting that if they fail to attend future meetings, their absence should be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Also speaking at the event, the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Renewable Energy, Barr. Newworld Safugha, urged PDP members to contribute actively to the party’s development.
He encouraged those in leadership positions to extend support to members who have yet to secure political appointments.

Barr. Safugha emphasized that leadership positions were meant to serve humanity and urged Ward Six members to work together for collective growth. He commended the political maturity of the ward members and urged continued patience and commitment.
Earlier, the Chairman of Ward Six, Hon. John Ligha, explained that the meeting was organized to formally present the newly elected ward executives and to reconcile with aggrieved members.
He thanked all attendees for their participation and commitment to strengthening the party.
The meeting was attended by prominent party members, including the Commissioner for Special Projects, Hon. Funyi Manager and other stakeholders.
