Nigerians have been advised to build their marriages on trust, tolerance, and honesty to ensure a stable home, which in turn fosters societal stability.
The Chairman of Akugbene Community in Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Success Waretimi, made this assertion during the dowry payment ceremony of his wife in Akugbene Community.
According to him, if the strength, love, and sacrifices made before marriage are sustained after marriage, both the home and society would be better places for living.
He emphasized that tolerance and trust are the key elements through which stability in marriages can be achieved.
Waretimi, who has enjoyed nearly 30 years of a fruitful and peaceful marriage, credited tolerance and understanding of each other’s limitations as the antidote to a successful relationship.

He noted that prioritizing marital responsibilities correctly helps in reducing in-law problems, thereby fostering unity between both families.
He also attributed the rising cases of broken marriages and teenage marriages to a lack of deep knowledge about married life.
He urged Nigerians to uphold the values and virtues of true marriage, recognizing its importance to societal development and growth.
Speaking about his wife, Mr. Waretimi expressed deep appreciation for her role and unwavering support in their family.
In his words, “She means so much to me and the family every day.

A healthy marriage leads to a healthy home, and a healthy home contributes to a healthy society and country.”
The event was attended by family, friends, and well-wishers who celebrated the couple’s enduring love and commitment.
