The South East zone of African Democratic Congress, ADC, has concluded arrangements to organize a Grand reception meant to honour the Founder and former National Chairman of the party, Chief Ralph’s Okey Nwosu.
A member of the Organizing Committee and Imo State Chairman of ADC, Prof. James Okoroma disclosed this to newsmen at a Media Briefing in Owerri, the Imo State capital
Okoroma said that Nwosu had given a good account of himself in national Politics and deserved to be honoured by all.
“He has ushered in new values into our democratic Space and given Nigeria a new direction by selflessly surrendering a Party he founded and built in the interest of the Country”.
He further said that the decision to honour Nwosu was taken by Southeast Leaders and the people to honour”a son whose efforts has laid a foundation for a new Nigeria”.
He said it was commendable that Nwosu set aside personal ambition and gave up ADC to mobilize Nigerians for a new Nation. He appealed to the people of the Southeast to come out enmasse on a date that would soon be announced to show solidarity to Nwosu.
The reception will attract former Governors, Senators, members of the House of Representatives,
State Assembly Members, Civil Society Organization s, Market Women, Youth Organizations and Party Faithfuls.
Nwosu recently resigned his Chairmanship of ADC unconditionally to pave way for the emergence of the David Mark-led National Executive Committee.
